Through rigorous individualized training, Musical Theatre studies the foundations of musical theatre production via stage and film productions, technical crew work, master classes, and courses taught by instructors who are renowned artists and professionals in their areas of expertise. The Musical Theatre BFA is a pre-professional program intended to nurture and hone everyone's skills in acting, dancing, and singing while encouraging the development of intellectually curious, well-rounded artists within the context of a liberal arts education.
The Musical Theatre BFA requires direct admission to the College of Arts and Sciences as well as an audition. IU utilizes the Musical Theatre Common Pre-Screen universal criteria for video audition submissions. The three steps to the audition + application process involve the following:
