Geography can be defined as the study of places and the relationships among people and their environments. This field bridges the social and natural sciences. Students who pursue this major will have the opportunity to explore an array of concentrations, be engaged in the department, and develop strong critical thinking skills with strengths in liberal arts.
The Department of Geography offers both a Bachelor of Arts (BA) and a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree. Students who pursue the BA degree will have more flexibility and will develop a strong liberal arts foundation that allows them to expand to other focuses. Students who pursue the BS degree are prepared for science-related jobs and/or for graduate school.
