A Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (B.S.K.) Exercise Science degree is for those who are interested in a science-based curriculum with classes about anatomy, biomechanics, exercise physiology, sport psychology, and much more. These classes focus their attention on the human body and movement throughout the body. This curriculum is further strengthened by classes in chemistry, biology, physics, communications, and mathematics.
Students will choose one of four specialized tracks: The integrated exercise science track will prepare you for graduate school in exercise science, the professional track will prepare you for a career in the industry. Finally, the pre-health professions and pre-athletic training tracks will prepare you for graduate school in medicine, physical therapy, athletic training, occupational therapy, or another allied health field.
If you are interested in this major, take IUB’s Chemistry Placement Exam (CPE) online. The results of the CPE will determine your placement level for IUB chemistry courses. For more details on the CPE, contact the Department of Chemistry at (812) 855-2700.
